Karen M. (Noel) Reed, 43, Coalport, died Monday at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, daughter of Paul L. and Tressa M. (Lender) Noel of Lyleville.
Surviving are her fiance, Nathaniel C. Traveny of Coalport; four siblings: Paul (Stella Zeigler) of Bolivar, Ohio, George (Debra Manges) and Mary Glass (Bobby), both of Coalport, and Barbara Ross of Manassas, Va.; numerous nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mark, on Feb. 10, 2011; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Cressie (Bender) Noel; her maternal grandparents, George and Ann (Soss) Lender; and a nephew, Joshua Ross.
Karen worked as a massage therapist and owned and operated Barb's Family Restaurant, Coalport. She was a certified Pennsylvania State softball referee and coached volleyball at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Coalport, where she was a member. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed hunting.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gibbons Funeral Home, Coalport, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Coalport Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Pastor Rick Wood and the Rev. Timothy Dietrich officiating.
