Dale Leroy Johnson, 59, Gloucester, Va., died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Halifax Regional Health System.
He was born in Altoona but later put his roots down in the Peninsula area of Virginia.
Surviving are two daughters: Brenda J. Asnicar and husband, Keith, and Hillary J. Walters and husband, Thomas; his mother, Delores Kauffman; four grandchildren: Daniella and Michael Asnicar and Molly and Ian Walters; and two sisters: Cathy Tellish and Debbie Caldwell.

Dale was a power plant operator and was employed with Dominion Power for 25 years. He was a down-to-earth guy, made friends easily and was devoted to his family. He enjoyed vacationing at the Outer Banks and especially enjoyed being Pop-Pop to his grandchildren. He had a passion for music, his dogs and Harleys.
Dale holds a special place in our hearts, and we will miss him terribly.
Friends will be received from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point, Va., where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, the Rev. Steven Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.
