Charles Wesley "Wes" Gardner Jr., 75, formerly of Altoona, passed away Oct. 27, 2012, in Pompano Beach, Fla., after an extended illness with lung cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles and Helen (Stuppio) Gardner.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann (Kachman); three children: Wes of Marco Island, Fla., Nicole (David) Sensabaugh of Frostburg, Md., and Natalie (Matt) Wible of Pompano Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; a brother, Ed (Charlene) of Riverside, Calif.; and six sisters: Patti (Bill) Sargeant of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mary Whysong of Arcadia, Fla., Debbie (Bob) Beck of Duncansville and Barbara Gardner, Cindy Donelson and Christine Gardner, all of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Antesberger; and three brothers: William, Robert and Beverly.
Known as "Sonny" by his family, he was a great big brother. After retiring from Penelec, he enjoyed golfing and living in Florida.
A celebration of life is planned for Nov. 30, 2012, at Cumberland Country Club in Cumberland, Md.
