Elizabeth R. "Betty" Cronauer, 95, Gallitzin, passed on to a new life Sunday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Hastings, daughter of the late William and Emma (Kline) Link.
Surviving are five children: Mary Helen (Pat) Hahn of Lynchburg, Va., Pauline Sheehan of Martinsville, N.J., James (Helen Kudrick) of Cresson, Donald (Karen Nitchman) of Lancaster and Joan (George) Launi of Elwood City; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilary, in 1979; a granddaughter, Brenda Hahn, in 1961; a grandson, Michael Launi, in 1996; a great-grandson, Eli Dambach, in 2012; a son-in-law, Thomas Sheehan, in 2011; and 12 brothers and sisters: Michael, Dennis, Charles, Walter, Leo, Margaret Fletcher, Sister Mary Michael, O.S.B., Agnes Born, Mary Link, Helen Holtz, Gertrude Havrilla and Pauline Dorko. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Betty excelled at cooking, baking and sewing craft items. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends, and she will be sincerely missed by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin (formerly St. Patrick's), where she was active in various organizations and activities over the years. She was faithful in saying her daily prayers and rosaries.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held Friday afternoon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
