Sherry Nan Nichols

Sherry Nan Nichols, 73, Sinking Valley, went to be with the Lord Monday.

She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late Harry S. and Margaret E. (Stouffer) McClellan. She was twice married, first to Theodore E. Loose and then to Roy R. Nichols.

Surviving are her husband, Roy; three daughters: Kim Hunter (Charles) and Judy Woodcock (Curt), both of Tyrone, and Traci Black (John) of Altoona; a son, Theodore Loose II of Tyrone; eight grandchildren: Jill and Mary Elyn Hunter, Tyler and Amelia Woodcock, and Paige, Ross, Libby and Abraham Black; a great-grandchild, Elias Hunter; a sister, Judith M. Rouzer (William) of Altoona; and three brothers: Harry S. McClellan Jr. of Tyrone, Buddy I. McClellan (Jean) of Nealmont and Randy A. McClellan of Altoona.

Sherry was a 1957 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and retired from MeadWestvaco in Alexandria, and she had previously worked at Murata Erie in State College. She enjoyed her grandchildren and loved cooking and baking for her family and making her home a special place for her grandchildren to visit. She was a special grammy and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, Pastor Christopher Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
