I am one of many Valley View Home employees who is fighting to keep our county home from being sold. Commissioner Terry Tomassetti has made it very clear from the start that he sees no need for the county to keep Valley View.
He has no regard for what would happen to the residents of Valley View. Private homes only have to accept so many Medicare and Medicaid patients.
What happens to the rest? As many of the people in this area age, they will find themselves far from home if they do not have the money it takes to stay at one of the many private nursing facilities in the area.
Valley View is currently one of the highest rated nursing home facilities in the county. The staff and management have worked hard to bring Valley View from a two-star rating to a four-star rating. We are very proud of what we have accomplished.
We are not only worried about our jobs but about our residents who we consider family.
The employees of Valley View go above and beyond to make sure everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Please help us to make sure that Valley View stays a county ran home.
Let the Blair County commissioners know how you feel and help us save what means so much to all of us.
