Ralph M. ‘Pete’ Williams

Ralph M. "Pete" Williams, 91, Claysburg, passed away Tuesday at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.

He was born in Claysburg, son of the late Calvin and Florence (Ling) Williams. He married Janet L. Burket on Sept. 4, 1942, in Winchester, Va., and she passed away Dec. 26, 1995.

Surviving are a daughter, Claudia Mauk and husband, Jack, of Claysburg; two grandchildren: Kendra Rhayem and husband, Mark, and Britton Mauk and wife, Nicole; three great-grandchildren: Ayden, Nathan and Cameron; and a sister, Marie Feather of Claysburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob.

Pete graduated from Claysburg High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired as a machinist from General Refractories, Claysburg. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg, and Claysburg American Legion and enjoyed reading and wildlife.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Claysburg Area Public Library or Claysburg American Legion.

Arrangements are by Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
