Shirley L. Dey, 83, Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, died Thursday at Altoona Regional after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Harry C. and Katherine (Jines) Kennedy Jr. She married William E. Dey on Sept. 12, 1947.
She is survived by her husband; a son, John W. Dey (Dayna) of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Dey; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dey was a member of The Evangelical Independent Methodist Church.
She retired as a bookkeeper from The Hite Co. and also had worked as a bookkeeper for Altoona Electrical Distribution.
She was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School.
Shirley enjoyed sewing, knitting and traveling. She was president of Altoona Women's Club in 1996.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Stevens Memorial Chapel by Pastor Bradley Reider. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, 220 Newry St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
