Shirley Ann (Long) Wyant, 78, Duncansville, died Friday at home after a brief illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Ira E. and Helen G. (Young) Long. She married Carl G. Wyant on June 16, 1956, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Karen Ickes (Luke) and Donna Yon (Jon), both of Duncansville; four sons: Carl J. (Linda) and Bruce S. (Jen Wendt), both of Duncansville, Mark J. (Steph) of East Freedom and Brian L. of Harrisburg; 13 grandchildren: Shawn, Justin, Amber, Sara, Haley, Matthew, Levi, Emily, Matt, Lindsay, Mandi, Mike and Jeanell; and 10 great-grandchildren: Bella, Owen, Camden, Marissa, Nathan, Ben, Ethan, Ava, Bailey and Laylani.
She is also survived by a brother, Bernard Long of Duncansville; two sisters: Carol Miller (John) of Tipton, Ind., and Linda Caponigro (Jon) of Roseto; two sisters-in-law: Mary Catherine Teeter and Carol Long; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, David M.
Shirley was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and had been employed with G.C. Murphy Co. in Hollidaysburg and Sylvania in Altoona. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry, and she enjoyed bingo, shopping, reading and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
