A fundraising event, Breathe Deep for Jeremy, will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the United Veterans Association Club, 1809 Union Ave., Altoona, for the Childrens Organ Transplant Association in honor of Jeremy Weyandt, a 35-year-old Altoona man who had a double-lung transplant in September.
Tickets are $20, which includes live entertainment, a buffet at 2 p.m. and soda. There also will be a cash bar, a Chinese auction and prize drawings.
The entertainment lineup includes Backyard Rockers at 1 p.m., Boomer at 2 p.m., Randy Jackson at 3 p.m., The House Band with guests Randy Jackson and Don Osborn at 4 p.m., R2B2 at 5 p.m., Big Mac & Fries with John McKelvey at 6 p.m., Without Zerb at 7 p.m. and Flight 19 at 8 p.m.
Tickets are available at Dormans Jewelry Inc., 712 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, and Thompson Pharmacy, 510 Blair St., Hollidaysburg. Tickets also will be available at the door on a first-come basis.
All of the profits will assist with transplant-related expenses.
The family needs an estimated $100,000 to pay transplant-related expenses.
