Alice Weshalek, 92, Ebensburg, passed away Saturday at Maple Winds Nursing Care Center.
She was born in Portage, daughter of the late Marian and Frozina (Azarowicz) Gervinski.
Surviving are a son, Richard Weshalek, married to the former Deborah Bobby of Northern Cambria; a sister, Catherine Romer, formerly of Altoona; and friend, Joseph Raptosh of Portage and his sons, the Rev. Joseph Raptosh and David Raptosh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; three brothers: Edward, Julius and Frank Gervinski; and a sister, Adeline McManus.
Alice was co-owner of Weshalek's Tavern in Emeigh for many years until she moved to Ebensburg. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Barnesboro during the years she lived in Emeigh. She was a member of Most Precious Blood Church in Emeigh, where she also directed the choir. She also participated at Holy Name Church Choir in Ebensburg, where she was a member.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where Parastas will be sung at 7 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 23, 2012, at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church, Portage, with Father Joseph Raptosh and Father James Spontak, con-celebrants.
Committal will be at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Cresson.
