Bernadette Melville, 44, Gretna, La., formerly of Hollidaysburg, died unexpectedly Monday peacefully in her sleep at her home.
She was born in Queens, N.Y., daughter of David Lee and Mary (Denning) Melville. Her father died Jan. 25, 2002.
Surviving are her mother of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Anne Marie Snyder and husband, David, of Camp Hill, and David's daughter, Megan; a brother, David G. and wife, Michelle, of Harrisburg and their daughter, Madeline; and a special friend, Stan Webster of Gretna, La.

Bernadette was a 1986 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School, and she then graduated from a computer school in Pittsburgh. She was a former nurse's aide, and she enjoyed writing poetry, drawing and the beach.
A private visitation at the convenience of the family will be held at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. A public funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by Father Clement G. Gardner. Committal will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
