Altoona, Hollidaysburg players helping Ohio

Altoona graduate Tyler Futrell has nine catches for 127 yards and two touchdowns for the 7-0 Ohio Bobcats football team.

Ohio is ranked No. 25 in the Associated Press poll. Fellow Altoona graduates Alphonso Lewis (30 tackles) and Neal Huynh (18 tackles, one sack) and Hollidaysburg graduate Ryan McGrath are also part of the team.

Justin Gildea, a Hollidaysburg graduate, has 30 tackles and a sack for the Temple football team through five games.

Luke Rhodes, a Hollidaysburg graduate, leads the William & Mary football team with 61 tackles through seven games.

Scott Andrews, an Altoona graduate, is the No. 1 placekicker in the Centennial Conference. Andrews is 10-for-10 on extra points and is averaging a field goal per game for the Juniata football team.

Tyrone graduate Derrick Emigh leads the Allegheny College football team with 25 catches for 193 yards and a touchdown in six games. Emigh has also returned five kicks for 115 yards and 16 punts for 188 yards.

Pat Smith, a Hollidaysburg graduate, is 26-for-50 with 375 yards and has thrown four touchdown passes for the IUP football team. Johnny Franco, a Tyrone graduate, has a team-high three interceptions and 30 tackles for the Crimson Hawks through seven games.

Altoona graduate Nick Soto has 13 tackles while playing in six games for the Edinboro football team. Philipsburg-Osceola graduate Kyle Lanich is a lineman for the squad.

Nate Detwiler, a Hollidaysburg graduate, has 32 tackles, a sack and has recovered two fumbles for the Dickinson football team through six games.

Bellwood-Antis graduate Jared Minori has 11 tackles in four games for the Susquehanna football team, and Tyrone graduate Ian Murray has five tackles and a forced fumble in five games for the team.

Caleb Vescovi, a Cambria Heights graduate, is 5-for-12 with 58 yards passing for the Slippery Rock football team while playing in three games.

Central graduate Luke Blattenberger has started six of the Lock Haven football team's seven games and has three catches for 25 yards.

Allison Kristofco, a Bishop Guilfoyle graduate, completed her fall tennis season at Wilkes by winning her third singles championship and second doubles title at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.

Kristofco went 17-1 this fall and is 89-17 in her collegiate career.

Anthony DeGol, a Hollidaysburg graduate, finished 42nd with a three-day total of 221 at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate for the Penn State golf team this past weekend.

Ashlynn Soellner, a Hollidaysburg graduate, has nine goals and six assists and a team-high 24 points for the Navy women's soccer team. Navy is 15-1-1.

Altoona graduate Tyler Hileman was the top Lock Haven runner for the men's cross country team with a time of 26:02 on an 8K course at the Gettysburg College Invitational.

Hileman took eighth overall, and Lock Haven won the team title.

Altoona graduate Ryan Trexler took 70th in a field of 389 runners for the Juniata cross country team. Trexler ran the course in 27:17.

Alyssa Beyer, a Hollidaysburg graduate, finished 39th out of 394 runners in the girls competition at the event for the Gettysburg women's cross country team. Beyer ran the 6K course in 23:53.

Bellwood-Antis graduate Emily Stapleton was 57th for Lock Haven in 24:17, and Sasha Peterman, an Altoona graduate, was 107th for UPJ in 25:16.
