Louis E. Schaefer, 84, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord Saturday at Altoona Regional after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of Louis F. and Edna P. (Ray) Schaefer. He married Betty Jane (Fasick) Cox on Oct. 15, 1957, at Altoona Bible Church, and she died Aug. 6, 1986.
Surviving are two daughters: Cathy A. Craw and husband, Scott, in Wisconsin and Sally J. Millikan and husband, Larry, in Colorado; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda J. Weyandt, M.D., in Texas; a brother, Richard H. of Altoona; a nephew, Scott Schaefer and wife, Valerie, in Florida and their son, Bradley; and his special companion, Janette DiGiacobbe.

Louis was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School. He was the co-owner of Schaefer's Furniture Store and a third-generation upholsterer and furniture maker. He was a member of Altoona Bible Church.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor Stewart McClelland officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
