Clifford E. Pincher, 94, Altoona, died Wednesday evening at Van Zandt VA Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Todd, son of the late Fred D. and Nora J. (Hampton) Pincher. He married Bethel L. Williams on Feb. 8, 1943, in Baltimore, Md., and she preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 1998, after 55 years of marriage.
Surviving are a son, Clifford E. II (Mildred) of Hollidaysburg; two daughters: Marie (Donald) Wolford of Altoona and Christine (James) Spiridigliozzi of Lakeland, Fla.; five granddaughters: Melissa, Christine, Beth, Emily and Allison; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy; a sister, Marie Martellacci; and his beloved dog, Rachel.
Clifford was a 1938 graduate of Altoona High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He began his career at Veeder-Root Co. in 1956, retiring in 1980 as superintendent of manufacturing. He had previously worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Clifford enjoyed fishing, hunting, baking, reading, gardening, woodworking and golfing. He was a member of the Juniata VFW and Hollidaysburg American Legion.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public funeral service.
