Mary Louise Feathers, 74, a long-time resident of Fairfax County, Va., died Sunday in the comfort of her daughter's home in Chantilly, Va.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George A. and Eunice E. (White) Oler of Hollidaysburg. She was married for 32 years to Frederick M. "Fred" Feathers, who died in January 1990. Together they raised three children: Sharon Leigh Prior of Chantilly, Va., Steven Michael Feathers of Manassas, Va., and Susan Lynn Smoot of Fairfax, Va.

In addition to her children, she is survived by a sister, Barbara E. Baughman of Hollidaysburg; a brother, Robert S. Oler of Clarksville, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mary was a 1956 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She had been a resident of the Greenbriar Community in Fairfax, Va., for 37 years and of northern Virginia for 52 years. She had been employed for 25 years by the National Rifle Association as the Lifetime Membership Department Manager.
Mary had a smile, laugh and zest for life that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Everly Funeral Home, 10565 Main St., Fairfax, Va., where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012. Interment will follow in Fairfax Memorial Park.
Mary died as a result of breast cancer but suffered from Alzheimer's for the past several years. To contribute to the effort to find a cure for this horrible disease, donations may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
