Betty Bell "Betts" (Harris) Bolger, 89, formerly of rural Roaring Spring, Littleton, Colo., and Altoona, passed away Monday evening at Desert Lakes Assisted Living Center, Chandler, Ariz.
She was born in Ardmore, Okla., daughter of the late David J. and Laura Isabel (Cook) Harris, formerly of Altoona. She married Robert Courtney Bolger on June 7, 1944, in Altoona, shortly before Robert was deployed to the Philippines during WWII. He passed away June 12, 2004, after 60 years of marriage.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Bel "Bobbie" Fishburn and husband, Thomas, of Chandler, Ariz.; two sons: Robert C. "Court" Jr. and wife, Penelope, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and David H. and wife, Judith, of Burbank, Calif.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Jeanne M. Bolger of Martinsburg; three nieces; and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John C. "Jack" Bolger of Martinsburg.
Betty was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School and a graduate of Johns Hopkins Hospital School for Nursing, Baltimore, Md.
Because of her husband's employment as a geologist, Betty traveled all over the world and saw many unusual and beautiful things and places, having lived in Lahore, West Pakistan, Pennsylvania, Missouri and Colorado before settling in rural Roaring Spring for her and Bob's retirement years. There, they became avid members of Iron Masters Country Club and spent much time golfing and with Bob's brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jeanne Bolger.
She enjoyed music, golfing, playing bridge and reading.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
