Bedford rolls to rout of Trojans

JOHNSTOWN - Several different players scored as Bedford blanked Johnstown, 13-0, in high school boys soccer Thursday.

Sam Felix and Garrett Thomas scored two goals each.

Steven Stroup, Stephen Calhoun, Lalo Munoz, TJ Johannson, James Jeffries, Caleb Grimes, Alex Kendall, Nikalas Wendt and Noah Whinesickle each scored a goal for Bedford.

PATTON - Bishop Carroll and Cambria Heights played to a double-overtime scoreless draw.

Carroll's Patrick Corcoran recorded eight saves, while Heights' Tristin Irwin made 12 stops.

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Hollidaysburg and DuBois played to a double-overtime scoreless tie.



CLEARFIELD - Ben Shetler and Bobby Dawson each scored for Tyrone, as it shut out Clearfield.

Michaela Bryan scored in the last minute of the second overtime period to lead Altoona past Bishop McCort. Molly Malone got the shutout for Altoona, as it improved to 5-7.


Lady Lion juniors win

Mykenah Lynn-Massar scored two goals to lead Altoona past DuBois, 4-2, in junior high girls action at Roosevelt Field.

Megan Vigne and Julia Sunderland also scored for Altoona (10-3-1).

Spring Cove girls win

ROARING SPRING - Oliva Smith scored two goals in the second half as Spring Cove defeated Penns Valley, 3-2, in junior high girls action.

Spring Cove is now 7-3-1.

Spring Cove boys triumph

ROARING SPRING - Caleb Stern scored two goals in the first half as Spring Cove blanked Penns Valley, 5-0, in junior high boys action. Brad Traxler was the goaltender.

Spring Cove is now 8-1-1.

Altoona juniors win

Evan Cardoza had a hat trick as Altoona topped DuBois, 3-1, in junior boys action at the Roosevelt field.

Goalkeeper Tim Leberfinger helped the Mountain Lions (10-3-1) preserve the win by coming up with a critical stop on a shot that would have tied the game.
