STATE COLLEGE -After the first day of competition in the District 6 girls golf championship at Penn State University's White Course Wednesday, Bellefonte's Alyssa Sinclair led all Class AAA golfers with a 78, and Kinsley Bonfilio of St. Joseph's Catholic Academy in Boalsburg led Class AA golfers with an 85.
The top finisher in Class AAA and top three finishers in Class AA will advance to the PIAA western regional next week at the Tom's Run course in Blairsville.
At the close of play Wednesday, Hollidaysburg's Marissa Rosensteel and State College's Jessalyn Holdcroft were both tied for second place in Class AAA with an 84, while Penn Cambria's Madison Krug was second in Class AA with an 88 and Cambria Heights' Morgan Spaid was third in Class AA with an 89.
