I wholeheartedly support Richard Flarend for District 9 state representative.
Unlike McGinnis, who plans to split his time between Harrisburg and teaching at PSU-Altoona, Flarend will work fulltime for his constituents because he will take a leave of absence from PSU.
Richard believes in a government that is small, but strong enough to provide local services such as police, fire fighters, schools, road and infrastructure maintenance.
He wants a "limited" constitutional convention. By "limited," he means that the convention would be strictly limited to reorganizing the government. Our present General Assembly is dysfunctional and very costly. Also, "limited" would prevent the convention from getting bogged down discussing social issues such as abortion and gay marriage.
He has demonstrated his belief in community involvement by volunteering for several community organizations.
Richard Flarend is a fine candidate for district representative. Please vote for him in the upcoming election.
