Dawson leads Golden Eagles past Dragons

TYRONE - Bobby Dawson scored a pair of goals for Tyrone as the Golden Eagles improved to 6-5-3 with a 4-1 win over Central in high school boys soccer Tuesday.

Eric Trexler scored the Scarlet Dragons' lone goal.

BEDFORD - Sam Felix had two goals to lead Bedford past Bishop McCort, 4-1.

Steven Stroup and T.J. Johannson also added goals for the Bisons, while Caleb Grimes, Garrett Thomas and Stephen Calhoun had assists. Adam Wood scored for Bishop McCort. Bedford also won the junior varsity match, 3-0.

Lions fall to Beavers

DuBOIS - Ian Yount scored three first-half goals, as DuBois defeated Altoona, 3-0.

Ryan Hayes got the shutout as DuBois' goalie, improving its record to 10-5. Altoona is 6-6-3.

BELLEFONTE - Kyrstin Johnson scored three goals to lead the Great Commission girls team to a shutout win over Centre County Christian.

Great Commission's Jaissle McCoy and Kansas Klock scored two goals apiece, and Megan Stuart also scored. Sarah Clark was the winning goalie.

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Evan Cardoza scored two goals, and Jake Deterline made 19 saves in goal to lead Altoona past Hollidaysburg, 3-0, in junior high boys action.

Matt Cowan also scored scored for Altoona, which is 9-3-1.

Lady Lion juniors win

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Mykenah Lynn-Massar scored three goals for the Altoona junior high girls team in its 7-3 win over Hollidaysburg.

Megan Vigne, April Leandri, Paris Haugh and Eva Azeni also scored for Altoona, as it improved its record to 9-3-1.
