Marjorie Elizabeth (Parrish) Volovski, 50, Fayetteville, N.C., formerly of Altoona, died Sunday after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Leonard Parrish and Mary Frances (Weidwald) Fleck.
Surviving are her loving and caring husband, Jon Michael Volovski of Fayetteville, N.C.; as well as two daughters: Samantha and Christine Brenneman; two brothers: Dennis Parrish and Robert Fleck; a sister, Michele Kavelets; and her stepfather, Robert Fleck Sr., all of Altoona.
Marjorie was a 1980 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She and her husband, Jon, lived in Fayetteville for 17 years, where Jon retired from the U.S. Air Force. She adored her daughters and was a proud Penn State mom, a loving wife and a caring aunt.
Marjorie was known for her huge heart and kindness toward others and was loved by many. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and dog, Sabbath.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, Father Brian Saylor officiating. Committal will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson.
