Everyone would agree that the sexual abuse of children is a horrendous thing.
But what if the children were even younger and what if they were not only abused but even killed?
Would this not be an even worse crime? Yet that is what abortion does. It kills an unborn child. Abortion has been described as the ultimate child abuse.
Joe Paterno did not abuse any children. He made a big mistake by not reporting the abuse to the authorities. But it is unfair, I think, to lay all the blame on Joe. He is the fall guy, the innocent one who nevertheless gets all the blame.
Paterno did not keep things quiet so that more sexual abuse of children would take place. However, that is what happened, and that was Joe's big mistake. But to take away his victories and punish today's athletes for something that someone else did, is unfair.
And until the media and society gives equal condemnation to the horrendous practice of abortion, they will get little sympathy from me.
Louis Freeh is a great investigator, and he always seems to do a very good job.
But I would like to see him investigate planned parenthood and abortion clinics. That is a report I would like to see. He could also investigate the Catholic Church with which I am associated.
The sexual abuse of children that took place in State College was very wrong and should be condemned and punished. But abortion is worse.
That the practice of abortion and the government funding of Planned Parenthood should be such a sacred cow, I find difficult to understand.
