Harold L. Weinzierl, 90, Altoona, died unexpectedly Friday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Greitl) Weinzierl. He married Geraldine Dugan on March 2, 1946. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are three sons: Thomas G. of Altoona, Mel J. (Lori) of Winter Springs, Fla. and Daniel H. (Nancy) of Harrisburg; two daughters: Susan M. Lepore (Ernest) in Virginia and Ann C. Clancy (Barry) of Altoona; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Paul Weinzierl of Atlanta, Ga., and Claude Weinzierl of Altoona; four sisters: Kathleen Corless of Altoona, Peggy Lenz of Dallas, Texas, Sister Daniel Weinzierl of Nanty Glo and Rita Wasylon of Troy, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Raymond; and a sister, Marie Cramer.
Harold was a 1940 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired as a sales representative from Penstan Supply. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona, where he was choir director for 50 years. He was also a member of Bavarian Aid Society of Altoona, Unter Uns, American Legion and VFW.
Harold enjoyed golfing, carpentry, cooking, baking, wine-making and, most especially, spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona.
Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Harold's memory be made to St. Mary's Memorial Fund.
