Ralph E. Wallace, 88, Foot of Ten, Duncansville, died Friday at Altoona Regional.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Samuel and Pearl (Smith) Wallace. He married Leona G. Weierick on April 12, 1952.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Donald (Rhonda) of Duncansville; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Joshua) Hesse of Nashville, Tenn., Jessica Veldhuis of Ontario, Calif., Craig Wallace of Hoboken, N.J., and Jonathan (Ashley) Wallace of Lewisburg; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Banks (Mary) of Newry; two sisters: Luetta Cawthern of Duncansville and Ruth Jean (George) Stanton in New Mexico; and a daughter-in-law, Diana Wallace.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lois Jean; a son, Ralph E. Jr.; a sister, Maretta; and two brothers: Floyd and Harvey.

Ralph was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was employed as a welder for Crane Services at Wye Switches, Duncansville, for many years. He retired from Conrail in 1982. He attended Foot of Ten Bible Church.

Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his four-wheeler and snowmobile. He loved to work.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service with military honors Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home Inc., 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville, with Pastor David Huston officiating.

Interment will be in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blair County Christian School.
