Francis Xavier "Frank" Heiss, 89, Ebensburg, died Friday. He was born in Duncansville, son of the late Paul and Caroline (Brunner) Heiss. Surviving are his wife, Rita A. Willebran; son-in-law, John Anderson; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Jean Anderson. He was a veteran of World War II. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto.
