Carol Ann Ottaway, 75, died Tuesday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Corry.
Carol was the adored wife of the late Merle L. Ottaway; cherished mother of K. Nicholas (Susan) of Harrisburg, Brent (Ellen) of Hollidaysburg, Julie (Curt) Schmit of Clarence Center, N.Y., and Sherri (Thomas) Price of Lititz; beloved daughter of the late Peter and Ruth Mallick; and sister of Josie (Donald) Tanner of Tucson, Ariz., and Linda Mallick of North East.
She was the loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and she was also an aunt of rock star status to many nieces and nephews, including the late Timothy L. Tanner.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Mallick.
Carol was a graduate of Corry High School and went on to be the proprietor of Carol's Carousel Gift Shop for more than a decade. She and her husband, Merle, were also proud innkeepers of the Ottaway Inn Bed and Breakfast in Corry.
She was active in the Corry Schools PTA while raising her children. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Corry and a member of the Corry Chamber of Commerce.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, 607 W. Smith St., Corry, the Rev. Dr. John W. Graham officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry.
Arrangements are by Bracken Funeral Home, Corry, and Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, 916 Hickory St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
