Constance R. "Connie" Smith, 70, Roaring Spring, died Friday morning at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Claar II and Melda (Walters) Feathers. She married Richard H. Smith on Feb. 15, 1947, in Roaring Spring, and he died Sept. 3, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters: Bonnie Heuston and husband, George, and Judy Smith and husband, Lester, all of Roaring Spring; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sandy Kane and Amy Claar; and five brothers: Richard Claar, Mike Claar, Ron Feathers, Don Feathers and Kurt Feathers.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Grover Cleveland Claar III and Richard Feathers.
Connie retired from the Home Nursing Agency after 10 years of service. She was a member of the Harvest Abundant Life Center, Claysburg, and was a previous member of Albright Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school.
Connie enjoyed sewing, crafts, playing board games and card games and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Harvest Abundant Life Center, Claysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, by Pastor Ronald Page. Interment will be made in Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
Contributions in Connie's memory may be given to the Harvest Abundant Life Center, 649 Picnic Road, Claysburg, PA 16625.
