I am writing this letter in support of Richard Flarend, who is the best candidate to represent our area in Harrisburg. In addition to being a physics and energy instructor at Penn State Altoona, he owns his own business and supports many community initiatives. This qualifies him to advocate for both public and private sector interests.
As a father of young children, he has been involved in several local projects and youth-oriented events, Boy and Girl Scouts, A Quaint Corner Museum, science-related classroom presentations for students and the Altoona Area Public Library to name a few.
He is enthusiastic, willing to listen and committed to working with all legislators to find common sense answers to the challenges our state and county face.
