ORE HILL - Central High School won its second Mountain League boys golf title, topping Philipsburg-Osceola by 22 strokes at Iron Masters Country Club on Wednesday.

The Scarlet Dragons' Jarrett Ritchey's 75 was the second-best score by any individual. Preston Gregg and Ben Brumbaugh both finished with 82s, and Matt Dillon carded a 92.

Tyrone's Gregory Ferguson shot a league medalist score of 74.

P-O finished second as a team and was led by Andrew Reifer's 85.

Rosensteel medals

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Hollidaysburg's Marissa Rosensteel was the medalist with a 43, and the Lady Tigers golf team defeated Bishop McCort, 158-180, and tied Forest Hills at Scotch Valley Country Club.

Hollidaysburg finished the regular season 18-2-1.

PC sweeps Carroll

EBENSBURG - Penn Cambria remained unbeaten, improving to 11-0 with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 sweep of host Bishop Carroll in high school girls volleyball.

Karissa Buzzella had 13 service points and 12 digs for PC, which also got 30 assists from Kelly Yusko, 17 kills from Tori Shingler and 14 kills from Taylor Freeman.

Sarah Gomish and Elle Yahner each had 10 kills for BC, and Janelle Gueguen delivered 14 assists.

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Westmont Hilltop defeated Hollidaysburg, 19-25, 25-15, 27-25, 25-12, to fall to 4-5 in high school girls volleyball.

Taylor Herr led the Lady Tigers with 10 service points, while Katie Reed added 16 assists to go with 12 kills from Alex Scheel.

CLAYSBURG - Paige Whitfield scored a game-high 19 points as the Altoona Maroon eighth graders dominated Claysburg-Kimmel, 45-2, in junior high girls basketball.

Cheyenne Yingling scored the Lady Bulldogs' basket.

Portage fell to 5-4.
