EAST FREEDOM - Police have identified the man whose body was discovered in an East Freedom home on Saturday.

Freedom Township police said the deceased was Dustin Brown, 24, of Martinsburg.

Police discovered the man's remains inside a home on the 2100 block of Everett Road. The body was severely decomposed, and initially police were not sure if the remains were that of a man or woman.

An autopsy and dental records were used to determine the man's identity, Blair County Deputy Coroner Cindy DiAndrea said.

Brown's parents were told of their son's death on Tuesday, DiAndrea said.

When reached for comment on Wednesday, Brown's mother, Amy D. Fouse, said the family was still unsure of the circumstances surrounding his death.

The official cause of death remains undetermined pending the results of toxicology tests, DiAndrea said.

Investigators did not find any evidence at the scene that suggested foul play, she said.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, with Pastor Charles Brewbaker officiating.
