Glad real officials are back

Commentary

September 30, 2012
The Altoona Mirror

These NFL replacement officials couldn't cut it, and I'm glad an agreement was reached before the season went any further.

What we saw on Monday Night Football between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers when a Hail Mary pass thrown by Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was intercepted by M.D. Jennings of Green Bay (but ruled a touchdown) was ridiculous.

Where was the head referee in all of this? He was no where to be found.

The Packers were robbed. The NFL has long been the standard for all professional sports and now this.

The commissioner of the NFL should be a man in disgrace. Hindsight tells me he should have canceled the NFL season instead of bringing in Division III referees. The referees didn't know NFL rules, and NFL play is too fast for them.

I'm glad the real officials are back this weekend.
