Lloyd A. ‘Butch’ Patton

Lloyd A. "Butch" Patton, 73, Nealmont, died Friday at Altoona Regional.

He was born in Tyrone, son of Alvin J. and Effie (Estep) Patton. On May 23, 1983, in Winchester, Va., he married Bonnie M. Grimm.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Wendy Patton, of Birmingham; two step-sons: Troy Grimm and wife, Christy, of Tyrone and Todd Grimm and wife, Nancy, of Milesburg; five grandchildren: Amber Briggs and husband, Jim, Toby Grimm, Shannon Park and husband, Ian, Sheriff Gilbert and Dylan Osterhout; two great-granddaughters: Alyssa and Lilly Briggs; a sister, Julie Baxter of Tyrone; two brothers: Jack of Spartnburg, S.C., and Robert of Tyrone; and special friends: Paul and Peggy Olenick and son Frank of Osceola Mills.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd A. Jr.; and two sisters: Debbie Ogershok and Donna Matts.

Mr. Patton retired on Feb. 29, 2012, from Penn State Office of Physical Plant in the janitorial department following seven years of service. He had been self employed for many years in auto repair and sales.

He was a member of the Jaffa Shrine, Jaffa Consistory, Tyrone Masons and the Tyrone Hookies Fire Company. He was a U.S. Navy serving as a boilermaker from 1956-59.

Butch enjoyed his grandchildren, football, golfing, casinos and traveling.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Feller Memorial Home with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
