Donald L. "Dink" Swander, 87, a resident of Valley View Home, went to be with the Lord on Thursday.
He was the last-born child of Jacob and Bessie Swander.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian; three daughters: Ronna Wilson (Donald) of Altoona, Tonda Denny (Dave) of Tyrone and Bonnie Unfried of Concord, Calif.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a beloved sister, Bessie McGinnis.
He was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
Dink was a graduate of Altoona High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, the Rev. Ralph Hamer officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
