Lady Tigers take 2nd behind Red Raiders

Marissa Rosensteel carded a 44 and led Hollidaysburg to a second-place finish in a five-team meet at the State College Elks in high school golf Wednesday.

Bellefonte's Alyssa Sinclair was the medalist with a 40. Haylee Hayward led Philipsburg-Osceola with a 52.

HOLLIDAYSBURG (205): Rosensteel 44, Love 49, Gildea 51, Fitch 61.

McCabe cards 82

EBENSBURG - J.J. McCabe's 82 sparked the Northern Bedford high school boys team, which finished second to Conemaugh Township in the 18-team Inter-County Tournament held at the Ebensburg Country Club.

Northern Bedford posted a team score of 472, second only to Township (463). Homer-Center was third with a 473.

McCabe and teammate Jake Frederick, who carded a score of 86, received an all-conference award for finishing among the top six golfers overall in the tournament. McCabe was fourth and Frederick sixth.

Zorgers, Naugles win

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Charlie and Linda Zorger and Gary and Diana Naugle carded a 27 to win the Leaders Division of the Couples Golf event at Scotch Valley. Brian and Jenn Hall teamed with Brian and Melissa Irwin (28) to finish second.

John and Sylvia Schraff teamed with Mike and Maddie Fitch to card a 32 and tie for first in the Legends Division with Diane and Denny Stewart and Henry and Maxine Weinberg.

There was a tie for first at 33 in the Tweeners Division with Denny Doll and Kathy Wagner and Joe and Penny Orr and Ken Kornowski and Kim McCarl and John and Lydia Kachur. Dennis DeGol and Nikki Buchanan, Mike and Phoebe Cohen and Pam and Mark Eberhart won the Wildcard Division with a 30.

Skill prize winners were Mark Eberhart (closest to No. 11 pin on second shot, closest to pin on 12), Kathy Wagner (long drive on 10), Weinbergs (closest to No. 14 pin on third shot), Joel Myers (closest to cart path on 15), McCarl (closest to pin on 17) and Lydia Kachur (longest putt on 18).
