BEDFORD - Bedford's William Kachman set a new home course record with a 17:25 finish to lead the Bisons to a 2-1 record, beating Cambria Heights, 19-44, and Chestnut Ridge, 21-39, and losing to Somerset, 27-31, in high school boys cross country on Wednesday.
Chestnut Ridge's Jimmy Farnan (17:42) finished second. The Lions lost to Somerset, 20-42, and beat Heights, 25-32. Somerset beat Heights, 19-43.
Bedford's Emilee Fierro (21:37) finished second among the girls, and Heights' Lindsay Link (22:37) was third. Somerset's Haylee Rohrer took first place with a 21:22. Heights beat Bedford, 26-30, and lost to Somerset, 19-39. Somerset beat Bedford, 22-38.

CRESSON - Arlee Simendinger helped Penn Cambria top Bishop McCort, 17-43, Bishop Carroll, 15-50 and Meyersdale, 15-50 with her first-place time of 19:57.
The McCort girls topped Meyersdale, 15-46, and Bishop Carroll, 15-50.
The Bishop McCort boys topped Penn Cambria, 25-38, Carroll, 15-50, and Meyersdale, 21-44. Penn Cambria beat Meyersdale, 25-30 and Carroll, 15-50.
Garrett Sutton finished second for Penn Cambria in the boys race.

EBENSBURG - In a meet featuring four area teams, Central Cambria's Alyssa Brandis finished first in 20:03 to help the Lady Red Devils to wins over Forest Hills (22-35), Bishop Guilfoyle (16-47) and Hollidaysburg (18-41) in girls action.
Hollidaysburg's Emily Ansley was the top Lady Tiger, finishing sixth in 22:02. Hollidaysburg beat Bishop Guilfoyle (19-44) and Forest Hills (26-31). Guilfoyle was led by Khristina Slobodnik, who took seventh in 22:26. The Lady Marauders also lost to Forest Hills (19-45).
On the boys side, Central Cambria's Justin Jeffers took second in 18:19 to lead the Red Devils, who beat Guilfoyle (15-45) but lost to Forest Hills (26-30) and Hollidaysburg (28-28 but lost on the sixth runner who finished for the Tigers). The Tigers also beat BG (15-50) but lost to Forest Hills (24-31).
Hollidaysburg was led by Eric Jennings, who took fourth in 18:41. Guilfoyle's top runner was Colin Berkhimer, who took 20th in 21:02. BG also lost to Forest Hills (15-50).
