TYRONE - The Central High School girls tennis team defeated Tyrone, 4-3, to capture its second straight Mountain League championship on Tuesday.
Meghan Schon, Mikaela McGraw and Nicole Myers all earned singles victories for Central, while Becky Stern and Mikaela McGraw combined for a doubles win. Anastasia Hollen and Keturah Weaver won singles matches for Tyrone, and Weaver teamed with Shannon Gearhart for a doubles victory.

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Marissa Lanzel, Susie Ellis and Maisie Supp each won their respective singles matches as Hollidaysburg blanked Hempfield, 5-0.
Doubles teams of Nur Cardakli and Alyssa Kustenbauder, and Alyssa Pheasant and Sierra Cobler also picked up victories.

Altoona improved to 11-1, thanks to a 5-0 win over Latrobe at the Leopold Courts.
The Lady Lions swept the singles action, thanks to Ashli Livermore, Lauren Lucas and Marina Dixon. Doubles victories were earned by Emilee Hollingsworth and Sarah Seidel, along with Julia Nagle and Kim Letscher.

Bishop Guilfoyle defeated Richland, 3-2, at the Herb Faris Courts at Mansion Park to improve to 8-7.
The big win came at doubles for Guilfoyle, thanks to Ashton Truby and Afton Dunkle. The Lady Marauders also received singles wins from Shannon Murphy and Kathryn Nazaruk.
