Surviving are two sisters: Theresa Santopietro of Altoona and Elvira Grassi in Illinois; a brother, Dan in Florida; and a special niece, Joy (Santopietro) Wolford and husband, Charles, and their children, Kristin and husband, Dominic, Aaron and Dana, all of whom she treated and loved as much as if they were her own children. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph, Anthony and Paul.

Catherine was a graduate of Altoona High School and formerly was employed by Vincent Horwitz shoe factory, Warnaco and D.S. Keith Junior High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She enjoyed outdoor activities, yard work, animals and Sudoku puzzles.

Catherine had a strong religious faith and did not value material things but placed the needs of her sister, Theresa, and her family above everything else. When help was needed by anyone, she was always there. She had a spunky attitude and a great sense of humor and was well liked by anyone and everyone who ever met her. She was extremely loving, giving, hardworking and selfless, and her presence on this earth will be greatly missed.
