Virginia M. Lantz Ryan, 96, Valley View Home, formerly of 2102 Eighth Ave., died Saturday at the home after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Martin and Edith (Scofield) Warsing. She first married John D. Lantz, and he died Aug. 8, 1966. She next married Jesse Ryan, who died Dec. 12, 1983.
Surviving are a son, Dr. John Lantz of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Joan C. Lantz of Johnstown; and two grandchildren: Jon Milton (Natasha) Lantz and Lia (Anthony) DeMarco.
She was preceded in death by a son, Milton E. Lantz; and a sister, Marjorie Dickson.
Virginia attended Altoona High School. She was of the Protestant faith.
Friends will be received from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Douglas R. McGaffin.
Committal will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
