Hollidaysburg wins crown

TREASURE LAKE - The Hollidaysburg Area High School boys golf team captured the team title in the sixth annual DuBois Invitational Thursday on the Silver Course at Treasure Lake.

Jordan Kirsch led the Golden Tigers with a 79, good for second individually, and Hunter Shields, Jerome Landry and David Snyder each shot an 85. Hollidaysburg edged second-place Ridgway by three strokes.

State College's Ty Gates was the medalist with a 72. Altoona finished seventh behind Derek Fink's 80, and Philipsburg-Osceola was 12th in the 13-team field.

The Hollidaysburg girls took seventh place in the 15-team girls field with Marissa Rosensteel shooting an 88. Central Dauphin's A team won the girls title with a 358, and Philipsburg-Osceola, behind Jessie Burns' 85, finished eighth.

Bellwood tops Chestnut Ridge

TYRONE - Led by Jake Pearson's medalist score of 82, the Bellwood-Antis boys team squared its season record at 5-5 with a 378-404 win over Chestnut Ridge on the Sinking Valley course.

The Lions fell to 6-4.

BELLWOOD-ANTIS (378): 1, Pearson, 82. 2, Wyland, 90; 3, Osborne, 96; 4, Messner, 110.

CHESTNUT RIDGE (404): 1, Stultz, 91; 2, Claar, 95; 3, Weyant, 104; 4, Beisinger, 114.

McCabe medals for Panthers

EVERETT - Northern Bedford's J.J. McCabe shot a medalist score of 78, but the Black Panthers (367) fell to both Everett (362) and Mount Union (362) at Down River Country Club.

The Warriors, led by Kyle Walters' 82 and Logan Brallier's 84, lost a tiebreaker to the Trojans when No. 5 scorer Ryan Varner's score beat out Everett's No. 5 score.

Northern Bedford is 4-5, while Everett is 4-7.

MOUNT UNION (362): Ashman 85, Goodling 87, Boozel 89, Craig 101, Varner 102.

EVERETT (362): Walters 82, Brallier 84, Williams 96, Phipps 100, Zanella 106.
