Dennis Zane Mock

Dennis Zane Mock, 80, Imler, went to be with the Lord Sunday at his home.
He was born in King Township, son of the late Ralph L. and Nell G. (Feathers) Mock. He married Geraldine L. Hengst on Aug. 11, 1954.
Surviving are his wife; two children: Bryan and wife, Carolyn (Beckley), of Schellsburg and Charlene S. of Imler; four grandchildren: Lucas, Jenna, Kaleb and Jacob Mock; two brothers: Allen and wife, Ethal, of Pleasantville and Keith and wife, Carol, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a daughter who adopted him, Jody Franklin in Virginia.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Vincent; a sister, Sylvia; and a brother, Terry.
Dennis was a 1949 graduate of Bedford High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and served a Mediterranean tour and in Japan. He was an electrician for Conrail and a forest fire warden from 1993-2008.
Dennis was a lifetime member of the Imler Fire Company and a member of the Bedford American Legion and NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, reading, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home Inc., Alum Bank, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment will be at Bedford County Memorial Park, where full military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
