Betty Louise (Brua) Baker

Betty Louise (Brua) Baker, 87, Hollidaysburg, entered the church triumphant early Monday morning at Altoona Center for Nursing Care after an extended illness.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of John and Mary (Lingenfelter) Brua. She married Jesse L. Baker on Aug. 6, 1949, in Mount Rainier, Md.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Bonnie of Jamison; a son, Barry of Erie; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: John and Orville Brua; and two sisters: Naomi Ross and Blanche Bowman.
Betty was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg. After high school, she worked at Suburban Bank in Hyattsville, Md., as a general ledger bookkeeper for 14 years. After returning home to Hollidaysburg, she dedicated herself to being a full-time homemaker and loving mother.
Betty was an extraordinary cook and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Betty's life at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor David Hersh officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
