Frances N. Otto

Frances N. Otto, 84, formerly of Graystone Court Villas, Altoona, passed away Saturday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg surrounded by her family.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of James J. and Mary (Salomie) Fedesco. She married the late Virgil Otto.
Surviving are two sons: Bill (Rose) Bittner of Altoona and Virgil (Donna) Otto of Meyersdale; five grandchildren: Mark, Scott, Stacey and wife, Dawn, Angela and Jason; several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Carmine "Chick" Fedesco of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Betty Fedesco of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also helped to rear her sister Lucy's children: Joe, Steve and wife, Bonnie, Mary and husband, Charlie, and Pat.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Marabella; a brother, James Fedesco; and a great-nephew, Bill Flaugh.
Frances retired from the Maintenance Department of the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center, and she formerly had worked for Nancy Andrews Sewing Co. and Puritan Sportswear. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Frances enjoyed country music, playing cards and her bird, Carrie.
At Frances' request, friends will be received from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at Santella Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church immediately after the visitation with committal at Calvary Cemetery.
