Duane A. Forney, 80, Antis Township, Tyrone, died Monday morning at Van Zandt VA Medical Center.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clarence and Gertrude (Judene) Forney. He married Carol A. Ware on Nov. 9, 1985, in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife; four children: Sondra Ocker and husband, Kevin, Vicki Casteel, Linda Heiss and husband, Joe, and Wayne Wolfe and wife, Tammy, all of Altoona; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Ciambotti of Langhorne.
Duane was a 1949 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1949-53 during the Korean War. He was a manufacturing manager during his working years, having worked 14 years for Crane Co., 10 years for Proctor Silex and a year for Dietrich Industries.
Duane was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Park Hills Country Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and dog shows.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, the Rev. Elizabeth A. Hess officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
