Police continue the search for a male ATV rider involved in a hit and run accident late Saturday night.

A Yamaha ATV ridden by two males crashed into a parked vehicle on the 200 block of Willow Avenue late Saturday, Altoona police said.

The operator lost control of the ATV and both riders were ejected from the vehicle, police said. The ATV struck a second parked vehicle on the roof and side, police said.

One of the individuals, a 19-year-old male, sustained multiple injuries. The man was transported from the scene of the accident to Altoona Regional Hospital, police said.

The second individual fled the scene, police said.

Police refused to release the names of the two individuals or comment on the 19-year-old's condition as of Sunday evening.

In a news release from Altoona Police Department, officials said officers were dispatched to the scene of the crash at 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

But initial calls of an ATV crash were first reported by EMS officials before to 10 p.m.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash but did not comment on any possible charges to be filed against the two individuals.

Police did not return repeated calls for comment as of Sunday evening. A damage estimate for the parked vehicles was not immediately available.
