A man who police said robbed a Sheetz convenience store shortly after 5 a.m. and attempted to burglarize additional businesses was arrested Saturday.
Mark LaHive, 20, of 231 Forshey Lane was arrested Saturday at his residence, Logan Township Police Chief Ron Heller said.
LaHive was charged with robbery, theft and receiving stolen property in connection with the series of early-morning robberies, Heller said.
Police said LaHive damaged an exterior door at Choice Cigarette Discount Outlet, 1672 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., sometime before 5 a.m. in an attempt to gain access to the store before traveling to multiple Sheetz locations.
At about 4:58 a.m. LaHive entered the Sheetz store at 1661 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd. and shoved employees to gain access to the cash registers, Heller said.
LaHive went behind the counter but fled the store without taking any money, Heller said.
He then traveled to a second Sheetz location at 1015 Old Sixth Avenue Road and again pushed employees. LaHive fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, Heller said.
"With the assistance of Sheetz corporate security, our officers were able to get description of him, a descripton of his vehicle and plate, went to his residence and arrested him," Heller said.
When reached for comment Sheetz spokeswoman Monica Jones said she did not have any additional details about the incident.
No employees were injured in the incidents, Heller said. Choice Cigarette Discount Outlet was closed at the time of the attempted burglary, he said.
Police filed additional charges of criminal attempt robbery, criminal attempt burglary, possession of instruments of crime, criminal mischief and possession of a small amount of marijuana were also filed against LaHive, Heller said.
LaHive was taken to central booking for his arraignment.
