MORRISDALE - The Cambria Heights girls cross country team, led by Cori James' second-place finish in 23:28, improved to 4-1 on the season by defeating West Branch, 23-33, on Monday.
The Heights boys (3-2) got a second-place effort from Eric Boothman in 18:31 but lost to West Branch, 21-35.
West Branch's Abe Albright won the boys race in 17:57, while West Branch's Lauren Godissart was the winner of the girls race in 22:57.

Richland beats BG
Dominic Farina scored on a pair of touchdown runs from 11 and 10 yards out to lead Richland past Bishop Guilfoyle, 14-7, in the season opener for both teams at Tom Irwin Field in junior varsity football.
Aaron Yasiliutis scored BG's only touchdown on a 9-yard second-quarter run.

Fundraiser set
The theme for Hollidaysburg's home football game against Derry Area Sept. 28 will focus on spreading awareness and raising money for pancreatic and breast cancer research. T-shirt order forms are available for $12 at the school.
Other activities planned for that week include a flag football game and assembly.
All proceeds will go to The Greg and Cathy Griffith Family Foundation and a local breast cancer fund.
Griffith, a Hollidaysburg graduate involved in numerous organizations, died in August 2011 of pancreatic cancer at age 50.
Correction
David Helsel was misidentified as Central's placekicker in Saturday's Mirror. Helsel kicked four extra points against Tyrone.
