Andrew L. Reed, 38, Patton, passed away Wednesday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Altoona, son of Sam and June (Holtz) Reed of Patton.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Sherri (Balzano), whom he married May 31, 1997; two sons: Jarred, age 13, and Nathan, age 9, of Patton; a sister, Cindy Day and husband, Jason, of Revloc; his parents-in-law, Phil and Cheryl Balzano of Ashville; three sisters-in-law: Lori Balzano of Elmora, Kim Balzano of Ashville and Jennifer Balzano of Ashville; two grandmothers: Sarah Balzano and Frances Reed; two nephews: Anthony and Dominic Day; and a niece, Addison Balzano.
Andrew was a 1992 graduate of Cambria Heights High School. He was the previous owner/partner of MNA Manufacturing in Johnstown and was currently employed by Charles Merlo Construction. He also worked for Altoona Pipe & Steel. He was a member of the Carrolltown Rod and Gun Club, Patton Sportsman's Association, St. Benedict VFW, Carrolltown Fire Company Club and Carrolltown American Legion.
Andy was a wonderful husband and father. His family was his life, and he loved spending time with his boys. He loved hunting and fishing and was a Dallas Cowboys fan all of his life.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at McCabe Funeral Home, Patton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton. Interment will be private for the family.
