Wilma K. Brubaker

Wilma K. Brubaker, 98, formerly of Williamsburg and Tyrone, died Wednesday night at Valley View Home.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of Howard S. and Clara (Kauffman) Furry. She married Hiram E. Brubaker on March 30, 1934, in Williamsburg, and he preceded her in death Oct. 8, 1977.

Surviving are two daughters: Regina Harmon of Huntingdon and Viola (Robert) Dollar of Tyrone; three sons: Robert L. (Doris) of Roots Crossing, David L. (Joan) of Valparaiso, Ind., and Kenneth C. (Sue) of Williamsburg; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Brubaker of Belton, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two stepbrothers: Charles Miller of Tyrone and Harry Miller of Greencastle.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Alfred and Raymond C.; a son-in-law, Joseph W. Harmon Jr.; and four brothers.

Wilma was a graduate of Replogle High School, New Enterprise. She was a member of Williamsburg Church of the Brethren and the Crusaders Sunday School Class. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and growing African violets, and she was a talented seamstress.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, and 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Williamsburg Church of the Brethren, Pastor Allen J. Baker Jr. officiating. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family in Carson Valley Cemetery, Allegheny Township.

Contributions in Mrs. Brubaker's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Blair Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648; or SouthernCare Hospice, 206A Falon Lane, Altoona, PA 16602.
