Tussey graduate speaks for women at DNC

September 6, 2012
The Associated Press , The Altoona Mirror

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Attorney and women's rights activist Sandra Fluke sounded dire warnings at the Democratic National Convention on a range of health issues if the GOP wins the White House.

Fluke inadvertently gained notoriety when talk show host Rush Limbaugh spoke disparagingly of her testimony to congressional Democrats. She had called for requiring her college health plan to cover her birth control.

Fluke, said if Republicans win in the fall, women will wake up to "an America in which access to birth control is controlled by people who will never use it, in which politicians redefine rape."
